My Origin Version

Dear Westlake University Admissions Committee,

My name is Zheng Yuxuan. In this essay I will paint the picture I envision of living and studying at Westlake University.

For study, as I have been curious and passionate about information technology since I was a child, I desire to pursue further education in this field at Westlake University. I would like to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and computer hardware. I’m also eager to explore the combination of computers and life sciences (e.g. Brain-Machine Interface). Though this is a challenging field, I’ll work against all the odds to make it worth all the while. At the same time, I’m willing to go abroad for exchanges to expand my international perspective as well as build bonds with like-minded people all over the world.

In terms of college life, I intend to adjust the abnormal work routine in senior high school, find a balance between work and rest to fully experience the beauty of life. I’ll regain my interests, such as playing the piano, cooking and designing and flying model aircraft. I’ll engage in the International Collegiate Programming Contest to win medals as well as foster positive relationships with my teammates. In my spare time, I’ll immerse myself in reading to further my personal growth. I’ll participate in some voluntary work to improve my social skills and leadership abilities.
